What is DRDO?

DRDO stands for Defence Research and Development Organisation. It is an agency of the Government of India that works under the Ministry of Defence. DRDO is responsible for developing new technology and equipment for the Indian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, and Air Force).

When was DRDO started?

DRDO was formed in the year 1958. It was created by combining a few smaller defence labs that already existed in India. Since then, it has grown into one of the largest defence research organizations in the world.

What does DRDO do?
